Prof. Lo Bello is actively involved in several national and international projects in the area of real-time embedded systems and sensor networks, and also in local projects. Among them:

The Project SCN_00190 “Smart Concrete”, funded by the Italian Ministry of Research (MIUR) under the “Smart cities and Communities

The Auto-adaptivity in Wireless Sensor Networks (AWSN) project, funded under the INRIA EuroMediterranean 3+3 Program (Project Site);
The Ambition Power PON Ricerca project, funded by the Italian Ministry of Research and Education (Project Site).
The FLEXWARE project, Flexible Wireless Automation in Real-Time Environments, a STREP project funded by the European Commission within the VII FP (Project Site);
The Network of Excellence (NoE) ARTISTDesign- Embedded Systems Design, funded by the European Commission within the VII, in which the University of Catania partecipates as Affiliated Partner of the Scuola Superiore S. Anna, Pisa (Project Site).
Since 2004 to 2008 she was responsible for the University of Catania in the ARTIST2 Network of Excellence on Embedded Systems Design, IST FP6 Project.
Since November 2004 to Nov.2006 she was responsible for the Research Unit at the University of Catania in the National project PRIN 04 entitled : “Study and development of a realtime land control and monitoring system for fire prevention”, funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (Project Site);
Since 2001 she is responsible for local projects on real-time communication and QoS over IP networks at the University of Catania.
In the years 2001-2003 she has actively participated in the Italian National COFIN 2001 inter-university project titled “High-Performance Processing for Applications with High-Intensity Computational Requirements and Real-Time Constraints”.
In the years 1998-2000 she has actively participated in the European project ESPRIT 26951 "NOAH - Network Oriented Application Harmonisation".
